Malang, ITN.AC.ID – Mengapa kita perlu belajar mengelola keuangan? Pertanyaan inilah yang dilontarkan oleh Fransisca Mevadian Reincyana, ST., AWP., di hadapan puluhan mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Nasional Malang (ITN Malang). Fransisca merupakan Financial Advisor, PT Prudential Life Assurance.

“Kita bisa saja sangat terdidik dalam urusan pekerjaan tapi buta akan keuangan. Banyak orang punya penghasilan namun gagal dalam mengelola keuangan. Hal ini bisa terjadi karena peningkatan gaya hidup (lifestyle), serta terjebak dalam lifestyle inflation akibatnya kesulitan menabung,” ujarnya.

Fransisca adalah alumnus Arsitektur S1 ITN Malang angkatan 2002. Dia memberikan Kuliah Tamu Technopreneurship 2024 bertajuk “Kecerdasan Finansial Generasi Gen Z”. Program Alumni Mengajar ini dihelat oleh Pusat Karir ITN Malang bekerja sama dengan Ikatan Alumni (IKA) ITN Malang, di Aula Kampus 1, Sabtu (23/11/2024). Hadir dalam kesempatan tersebut Wakil Rektor 3, Dr. Hardianto ST., MT; dan Kepala Pusat Karir ITN Malang, Dr. Lila Ayu Ratna Winanda, ST., MT.

Menurutnya, seseorang tidak dapat menabung sebab tidak pernah belajar cara mengelola keuangan. Padahal kecerdasan dan keterampilan mengelola keuangan penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup seseorang.

Fransisca mencatat, masalah keuangan yang biasa dialami oleh kebanyakan orang antara lain: susah menabung, impulsive buying, terjebak hutang, belum memulai investasi, terjebak investasi bodong, tidak mempunyai passive income, tidak mempunyai atau salah membeli asuransi, belum menyiapkan tabungan pendidikan, tidak mempunyai plan kebebasan keuangan, serta belum menyiapkan dana pensiun.

Dikatakannya, pada saat bekerja sebagai marketing Fransisca banyak mencoba hal baru. Dia belajar mulai dari sisi hukum, cara menghadapi orang, belajar product knowledge yang semuanya belum pernah didapatkan saat kuliah. Banyak posisi yang dia jalani seperti officer ekonomi, kredit, berhubungan dengan nasabah, menghitung neraca keuangan, account officer, sampai penagih hutang.

Fransisca Mevadian Reincyana, ST., AWP., alumnus Arsitektur S1 ITN Malang saat memberikan Kuliah Tamu Technopreneurship 2024 bertajuk “Kecerdasan Finansial Generasi Gen Z”.

“Ketika seseorang tidak bisa mengolah financial mereka bisa gagal bayar. Saya pernah mengalami kesalahan dalam mengelola keuangan. Lulus kuliah gaji hanya 1,2 juta rupiah. Bersyukur saya suka menyisihkan (penghasilan) dalam bentuk emas. Dari perjalan itulah kenapa saya perlu mengelola keuangan,” jelasnya.

Maka sebagai mahasiswa menurutnya perlu memahami masalah keuangan. Dengan begitu bisa sedini mungkin belajar cara mengelola keuangan. Skill keuangan yang harus dipahami dan dipelajari adalah bagaimana cara menghasilkan uang, bekerja, menabung, mengembangkan investasi, melindungi uang, serta mencapai kebebasan keuangan.

“Kita perlu belajar cara mengelola keuangan untuk meraih tujuan hidup, karena waktu produktif kita terbatas. Padahal kita punya cita-cita yang harus diraih,” serunya.

Menurut Fransisca sebenarnya langkah-langkah pengelolaan keuangan tidak rumit. Awal yang harus dilakukan adalah budgeting atau perencanaan anggaran. Dengan menentukan alokasi sumber keuangan untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Mengalokasikan anggaran keuangan setiap awal bulan dan merencanakan kemana uang akan dikeluarkan. Budgeting ini juga akan membantu melihat prioritas dalam kehidupan kita.

“Jangan kuliah saja, tapi kembangkan soft skill. Pelajari soft skill. Sampai hari ini saya masih terus belajar, dan melatih diri mempelajari budgeting. Saya yakin dengan soft skill kalian bisa bertahan di luar sana,” serunya. Dia mengingatkan untuk menyisihkan tabungan langsung dari gaji, bukan dari sisa gaji, dan biasakan menabung di awal bulan.

Fransisca memasukkan empat poin yang perlu dalam budgeting. Yakni, sedekah, tabungan-investasi-asuransi, kebutuhan pokok maksimal, dan keinginan maksimal. Perlu juga mencatat pengeluaran harian. Mencatat adalah cara untuk mengenali kebiasaan dalam mengatur keuangan. Tujuannya untuk mindfull terhadap setiap rupiah yang dimiliki. Serta menghindari kebocoran-kebocoran kecil.

Langkah selanjutnya adalah evaluasi mingguan. Tujuannya untuk menyadari jika terjadi kebocoran-kebocoran kecil dalam perencanaan keuangan, serta membantu menyesuaikan tujuan keuangan dengan realita. “Langkah ini menjadi penting setelah kita melakukan budgeting, pencatatan harian, dan melakukan evaluasi secara berkala,” tuntasnya.
