Hindari Penularan Covid-19, ITN Malang Sediakan Bak Cuci Tangan di Kampus dan Ajak Masyarakat Biasa Cuci Tangan

Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang memasang bak cuci tangan di depan rektorat, tepatnya di sebelah mesin absen deteksi wajah. Bak cuci tangan ini merupakan salah satu cara Kampus Biru untuk membantu pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19.

“Rencana awal kami membuat tempat cuci tangan selain dipasang di kampus juga akan diberikan ke sekolahan SMA/SMK. Tapi berhubung anak-anak sekolah juga belajar di rumah, akhirnya rencana bergeser ke tempat-tempat umum,” ujar Rektor ITN Malang Dr.Ir. Kustamar, MT saat ditemui di ruangannya Kamis, (09/04/2020).

Menurut rektor, nantinya bak cuci tangan akan dipasang di tempat-tempat umum yang masih bayak dikunjungi oleh masyarakat, seperti pasar dan mall.

“Diprioritaskan dulu di mall atau wilayah dekat pasar untuk membantu masyarakat mencuci tangan. Nanti, setelah siswa masuk baru bisa ke sekolah-sekolah. Dengan desain yang bagus dan tahan lama, maka anak-anak senang dan menjadi terbiasa cuci tangan. Tentunya kami seleksi dulu, tidak semua tempat (dapat),” imbuhnya.

Sebagai awal bak cuci tangan sudah dipasang di kampus 1 ITN Malang pada awal bulan April kemarin. Dengan dipasangnya alat ini diharapkan setiap karyawan dan tamu yang datang ke kampus bisa mencuci tangan sesering mungkin. Sehingga penularan Covid-19 melalui kontak tangan bisa terhindarkan.

“Kami buat tanpa tandon, langsung dihubungkan dengan kran air yang paling dekat, sehingga tidak menyusahkan dalam pengisian air. Kalau semisal sewaktu-waktu airnya tidak mengalir, maka bisa membersihkan tangan dengan hand sanitizer yang sudah disedialan di situ (bak cuci tangan),” kata rektor.

Rektor berharap dengan adanya fasilitas bak cuci tangan kesadaran masyarakat secara individu akan meningkat. “Saya menghimbau kepada karyawan ITN Malang dan masyarakat umumnya untuk rajin mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan air mengalir,” tandasnya.

Bak cuci tangan buatan Teknik Mesin Industri (D-4) Sarjana Terapan ini berbahan stainless sehingga lebih tahan lama dan mudah dipindahkan. Dilengkapi dengan dua tempat di kanan dan kiri bak untuk menempatkan sabun cair dan hand sanitizer.

Aladin Eko Purkuncoro, ST, MT Kepala Program Studi Teknik Mesin Industri (D-4) Sarjana Terapan mengatakan, keunggulan bak cuci tangan selain kontruksinya terbuat dari stainless, juga dirancang secara ergonomi sehingga membuat nyaman bagi pemakai. “Dilengkapi dengan hand soap dan hand sanitizer. Jadi, ada dua fungsi untuk cuci tangan atau membersihkan tangan dengan hand sanitizer,” ujarnya. (Mita Erminasari/humas)
