Keluar dari Zona Nyaman, Siti Fathimah Ikuti Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka ke Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh

Malang, ITN.AC.ID – Senang, bahagia, dan bersyukur. Itulah yang dilontarkan oleh Siti Fathimah sepulangnya dari Banda Aceh. Sifa panggilan akrab Siti Fathimah merupakan mahasiswa Prodi Arsitektur S-1, Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang. Ia bersama puluhan mahasiswa dari berbagai daerah menjadi tamu dan mengikuti Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa (PMM) 2 di Universitas Syiah Kuala (Unsyiah), Banda Aceh mulai Agustus hingga Desember 2022. Sifa keluar dari zona nyaman sebagai mahasiswa untuk mencari tantangan, sekaligus pengalaman di universitas lain. Dengan mengikuti PMM 2 ia memiliki banyak relasi mahasiswa dari seluruh Indonesia. Merasakan perkuliahan di prodi dan kampus yang berbeda. “Saya ingin punya pengalaman yang berbeda. Tidak hanya fokus pada zona nyaman sebagai mahasiswa yang hanya kuliah dan kosan. Alhamdulillah, sangat senang, bahagia, dan bersyukur. Bertemu banyak teman baru, dan bisa keliling Banda Aceh sambil belajar. Apalagi nilainya juga bisa di konversi ke mata kuliah,” cerita Sifa saat dihubungi lewat sambungan whatsapp, Senin (19/12/2022). Menurut Sifa, mengikuti kegiatan modul nusantara sangat menyenangkan. Karena banyak kegiatan yang langsung terjun ke masyarakat untuk mengenal kebudayaan daerah. Biasanya kegiatan modul nusantara dilakukan hari Sabtu, dan Minggu. Mahasiswa dikenalkan kepada kebudayaan, makanan dan oleh-oleh khas daerah, kearifan lokal, serta keindahan alam Banda Aceh.

Namun, pengalaman paling berkesan adalah saat mereka ke Pulau Sabang. Disana Sifa dan teman-temannya melakukan beberapa kegiatan. Seperti mengunjungi Tugu Nol Kilometer Sabang yang terletak di Pulau Weh, menikmati Taman I Love Sabang yang berada tepat di Cot Ba’u, Kota Sabang, menginap di Pantai Iboih, dan juga mengunjungi beberapa destinasi wisata lainnya. Mereka juga mengunjungi sekaligus belajar sejarah di Museum Tsunami Aceh, dan Masjid Raya Baiturrahman Banda Aceh.

Disela-sela kuliah mahasiswa PMM ini juga melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan kegiatan kontribusi sosial. Mereka turun langsung dan berbaur dengan masyarakat dusun yang berada di Desa Darat, Kecamatan Jaya, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya. Kegiatan kontribusi sosial pun beragam. Mulai memberi materi kepada warga, mengadakan lomba, membersihkan dusun, dan juga menanam pohon bakau di pinggiran sungai. “Kami di dusun selama empat hari lima malam. Dusun tersebut berjarak sekitar 2-3 jam dari Banda Aceh. Pembangunan,  dan jaringan internet di sana belum merata. Bangunan rumah-rumah penduduk dari pemerintah pasca tsunami 2004 lalu juga masih bertahan dan digunakan hingga sekarang,” ungkap mahasiswa asal Kalimantan Selatan ini. Kebersamaan empat bulan di Unsyiah membuat mereka semakin mengenal, dan semakin erat rasa kekeluargaan satu sama lain. Bahkan, kelompoknya Sifa dikenal dengan sebutan keluarga cemara. Di PMM inilah mereka ditempa menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik. Karena dipertemukan dan belajar menghadapi berbagai macam sifat, kebiasaan, pandangan dan pola pikir individu yang berbeda-beda.

“Program PMM sayang kalau dilewatkan oleh mahasiswa. Sebenarnya persyaratannya mudah, seperti menyiapkan dokumen sesuai dengan persyaratan, menjawab tes kebhinekaan dengan baik dan sesuai. Tes ini tidak ada jawaban benar atau salah. Namun, bagaimana cara kita menanggapi suatu keadaan, dan apa yg harus kita lakukan dengan keadaan tersebut,” tandasnya berharap mahasiswa ITN Malang lainnya bisa memanfaatkan Program PMM 3 tahun 2023.
