Para Mahasiswa Arsitektur ITN Malang berkeliling dengan Macito saat Kuliah Bersama tentang Perkembangan Arsitektur Kota Malang, Sabtu (25/11/2023). (Nedi Putra AW)
BACAMALANG.COM – Kota Malang dikenal sebagai Kota Pendidikan dengan banyaknya perguruan tinggi baik negeri maupun swasta. Sementara dari sisi sejarahnya, Kota Malang berdiri sejak zaman kolonial Belanda, yang membuat sistem dan perencanaan tata kotanya sangat dipengaruhi oleh arsitektur kolonial Belanda.
Berangkat dari hal tersebut, sejumlah mahasiswa Arsitektur Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang menggelar Kuliah Bersama tentang Perkembangan Arsitektur Kota Malang.
Kuliah bersama yang dipimpin oleh Ir. Budi Fathony, MT, dosen Arsitektur ITN Malang ini digelar dengan menumpang Bus Malang City Tour atau Macito berkeliling Kota Malang, Sabtu (25/11/2023).
Tidak sekedar berkeliling kota, bus warna-warni yang disediakan Pemkot Malang ini membawa rombongan mahasiswa ITN itu juga menyediakan pemandu yang bercerita tentang segala hal yang terkait dengan bangunan atau tempat yang dilintasi.
Para penumpang diajak melewati sejumlah tempat wisata dan ikon Kota Malang selama kurang lebih 25 menit. Secara umum Macito ini melewati Alun-alun Merdeka atau Alun-alun Kota Malang, daerah Kauman, Jalan Ijen, kawasan Oro-Oro Dowo, kawasan Kampung Kayutangan Heritage, dan berakhir di Alun-alun Tugu.
Salah satu mahasiswa Anindya Aulia Rachmandari mengaku sangat senang dapat kuliah sambil berkeliling kota dengan Bus Macito ini.
“Sangat menarik, karena dari keterangan pemandu Bus Macito disampaikan bahwa ada bangunan-bangunan bersejarah yang tidak boleh diubah hanya direnovasi kecil saja,” ungkapnya.
Menurut dia, hal ini membuat masyarakat dapat mengetahui sejarah dari kota lewat bangunan-bangunan yang ada. Dara yang akrab disapa Aulia ini mengatakan, dirinya sudah pernah mendengar kisah dari beberapa kawasan yang dilalui. Namun ada pula yang belum.
“Saya sudah pernah kisahnya Monumen Trip misalnya, namun baru tahu juga kalau daerah Kauman itu artinya ternyata tempat Kaum Beriman karena banyak tempat ibadah, serta kawasan Simpang Balapan yang dulunya adalah arena pacuan kuda,” paparnya.
Dari kuliah bersama ini Aulia berharap pembangunan ke depan tidak melupakan sejarah di dalamnya.
“Pembangunan tetap mengutamakan unsur sejarah dan budaya setempat dari daerah yang akan dibangun selanjutnya,” tandas mahasiswa Arsitektur S-1 ITN Malang yang menyandang gelar Terbaik III Duta Investasi Kota Malang 2023 ini.
Dosen Arsitektur ITN Malang Ir. Budi Fathony, MT menambahkan, kuliah di lapangan dengan cara melihat langsung perkembangan kota ini sangat penting.
“Kota Malang berkembang dari masa ke masa, demikian pula arsitektur bangunannya. Mahasiswa perlu mendokumentasikan perkembangan arsitektur tersebut agar dapat melihat bagaimana selanjutnya, terutama 5 tahun ke depan,” ujar dosen yang pernah menjadi Tim Ahli Cagar Budaya Kota Malang ini.
Budi menuturkan, bagi mahasiswa baik itu yang berasal dari Malang maupun luar Malang, perkembangan arsitektur dengan label heritage ini menjadi hal yang menarik.
“Sehingga nanti setelah menjadi arsitek profesional, para mahasiswa ini dapat menata kotanya masing-masing dengan melihat potensi-potensi yang ada tanpa harus menghilangkan potensi tersebut,” ucapnya mengakhiri. (Nedi Putra AW)
